I have some bougainvillea growing in the balcony window sill. I let the soil dry out before watering again. Is this ok? Or should I water when the soil is a bit damp?

I let the soil dry before watering. I may be doing wrong, but my plants look healthy.

If they are new, I would water them about 2 times a week maybe? After a while, let them grow on their own without water (or not very much water). I know that specific plant likes dryness.
