When you click a product link on our website that leads to a retailer such as Amazon, that link contains a small tracking code identifying our site as the referrer. If you complete a purchase during the qualifying cookie window (typically 24 hours for Amazon), we receive a small percentage of the sale — typically 1–8% depending on the product category.
You pay exactly the same price whether you use our affiliate link or navigate to the retailer directly. The commission comes from the retailer’s margin, not an additional charge to you.
The short answer: they don’t — and here’s why we say that confidently.
We recommend products because they are genuinely good, not because they offer a high commission. Many products we recommend are not available through affiliate programs at all, or carry a lower commission rate than alternatives we chose not to recommend. Our credibility with this community is more valuable to us than any individual affiliate commission.
We do not accept payment to write positive reviews. We do not allow brands to review or influence our content prior to publication. If we received a product for free for review purposes, we will disclose that clearly in the relevant article.
In addition to affiliate links, our website displays advertisements served by Google AdSense and potentially other advertising networks. These ads are served automatically based on our content and your browsing history.
