Anything that preys on other insects will also eat butterflies. Ants, wasps, birds, preying mantises, walking sticks, etc., will eat butterflies. It will be hard to keep these creatures off your garden, you just need to accept that even the beautiful butterflies are part of the food chain. This, however, should not stop you from enjoying the butterflies while they are still around.
