Why do people release butterflies at weddings? Does it bring good luck or is it just to include a good deed in your wedding?

Some people believe it is good luck. BUT there is a responsibility to releasing them. They are expensive. There are care instructions on the box, such as keeping out of sunlight and heat. Then there is the worry of the weather. |

How much do they cost? How many do people let go, 5, 10, 50, 100? What kind are they, just Monarchs? |

There are various butterflies you can release at a wedding. Monarchs, Painted Ladies and there may be others. I know Monarchs may be 12 for $125. |
