Robins in the winter

I had Robins in my yard last December. If I see them again this year, what should I do? Try to keep them (they were eating out of a pail where I had some worms (long story - ha, ha, ha) or should I just not try to feed them? I am kind of curious if I could get them to stay through the winter but I don't want to endanger them. Help!

Welcome them. Birds add life to a garden.
